Dhopeshwar Temple

The 26'X13'X8' Dhopeshwar temple stands on a hill about a mile and a half from the village. It is believed that the idol is a swayambhu idol. It is believed that a vani of Karad called Purva was passing this way from the seacoast with a bullock cart loaded with tin and iron, when the animal strayed to the current location of the linga. The vani stayed there overnight and discovered the next day that the tin and iron had turned into gold. Filled with gratitude, he built the Dhopeshwar temple with part of the treasure and buried the remaining treasure so that he could use it to build a spire later on. In accordance with this legend, there is an order forbidding anyone from digging up the treasure.
