While the idol of Vishnu in the temple is an ancient one, the temple itself is of recent construction. During the reign of Sahu Maharaj, this idol, which was found in the moat around the city wall, was installed at the current temple. This black stone idol has Lord Vishnu reclining on the coils of a serpent. The serpent's head is spread over the Lord and a Das and a Dasi are pressing Vishnu's feet. The idol is about 10 to 12 ft long.
