Velayudhaswami temple

The Velayudhaswami Temple is located in Tindalmalai and is dedicated to God Muruga. This temple is one of the 108 Murugan temples praised in the celebrated Tirupugazh hymns. It is located just 8 kilometers from Erode on the Perundurai road which is lined with tall trees. There are five Vaishnava cult Karuppannasamy temples and Three Mariamman temples for Shakti worship near the Tindalmalai Murugan temple. The God Muruga in the temple is endearingly called Kuzhandai Velayuthaswami and Kumara Velayuthaswami. Idumban in the temple enjoys a special reputation. The devotees are greeted by tall beautiful arch at the entrance of the temple on the highway with Vinayaka, Subramania, his consorts Valli and Deivanai, the peacock vehicle of God Muruga, God Shiva and Mother Parvathi, Goddesses Saraswathi and Lakshmi.
