The Prasanna Venkataramana Perumal Temple is located in Chinna Tirupati and is dedicated to God Prasanna Venkata Perumal. The God of this temple Prasanna Venkata Perumal blesses devotees from the sanctum sanctorum in the standing posture. Sarkarai pongal or sweet pudding is offered as nivedhana to the God. Legend has it that when God Vishnu went for a bath he couldn’t find Arapu or soap nut powder to cleanse His hair. Mother Mahalakshmi was not there to help Him either. In search of it He reached this place and fascinated by its beauty decided to stay here. This is one of the many other legends. There were many cows that were grazing in this place out of which one was pouring milk on an ant hill. It was later seen that God Perumal was found in the form of a Swayambumurthy and the temple was later erected.
