Lakhesvara Shiva Temple

Lakhesvara Shiva temple is located in the old town of Bhubaneshwar. Situated at a distance of 70 metres north east of the famed ancient Lingaraj temple and at a distance of 10 metres south of Gangesvara and Yamunesvara Shiva temple across the road. The temple faces east and the enshrining deity is a Shiva lingam within a circular yoni-pitha. The temple has been built as per the Saptaratha plan (the architectural detail showcasing the seven chariots) and anuratha paga (curvilinear pilaster like structures) is decorated with lotus design.
