Sarvatresvara Siva Temple

Sarvatresvara Siva temple enshrines a Siva-lingam within a circular yonipitha (In Hindu philosophy, according to Tantra, yoni is the origin of life. The yoni is also considered to be an abstract representation of Shakti and Devi (the creative force that moves through the entire universe) in the sanctum. The temple follows all the necessary rituals hence called a living temple. The temple precinct is located on the right bank of the stream Gangua. The name of the deity Sarvartesvara implies the lord of all the planes. The temple is surrounded by the famous ancient fortified settlement of Sisupalgarh in the east at a distance of 100 metres, Madanesvara to the west within a distance of 1 km. The temple faces west and has been built in the Kalingan style.
