Form and Characteristics of the Deity


The principal deity of this temple is Ananda Vinayakar, his shrine faces east.


Sub Deities


Adhyantha Prabhu, Anjaneya, Surya, Lord Shiva, Navagrahas, Brahma, Mahavishnu, Durga, Mother Parvathi, Muruga and Swarna Bhairava.


Uniqueness of the Temple


  • The Adhyantha Prabhu vigraha in this temple is exceptionally carved. The right half of the idol is that of Lord Ganesha and the left is that of Lord Hanuman.
  • There are 8 bells that are installed in this temple. Each representing the 7 swaras of music’ Sa, Ri, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni, Sa’. The eight one is Om, as it is the first sound.
  • On the Vinayaka chaturthi day, the rays of the Sun fall directly on the main deity, Lord Ananda Vinayaka. This is considered auspicious by the devotees.
  • It is mentioned by few devotees that at this Madhya Kailash temple, camphor can be lite by the devotees themselves.


Significance


Devotees pray here to fulfil their wishes; especially educational woes are solved by praying at this temple. People pray here to be relieved of the Navagraha Dosham.


Offerings


As there are two devas, Lord Hanuman and Lord Vinayaka in the Adhyantha prabhu vigraha, Nine Tulsi leaves and 9 Erukkam flowers are mixed and offered to the joint form of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. An arathi is mandatory after this offering.

The festivals celebrated in this temple are Vinayaka Chathurthi and Hanuman Jayanthi in the month of Dhanur.

Meaning -We meditate on the great power, we call upon the single tusked Ganesh, who grants wishes.
