Maa Shitala Temple is one of the beautiful shrines, which is located in the main market near Tower Chowk. The small shrine is an ideal place to rest in peace and is frequently thronged by devotees as well as tourists. The idols enshrined in the temple are ancient and it is believed that incurable diseases are cured if one worships at this site with respect and devotion. The major festival celebrated in the region is Shitala Puja, which is organised annually during the months of March and April.
