The Aeri Katha temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, goes by a number of other names like Mathuranthaka Chaturvedi Mangalam, Vaikunda Varthanam, Thirumathurai, Thirumanthira Tirupathi and Karunagara Vilagam. This is also the sthalam where Udayavar was named Ramanuja and he was instructed the Pancha Samskara Mantram by Periya Nambigal. Hence, this place is also called ?eDwayam Valartha Kshetram?f. It is also the sthalam where Thirumazhisai Alvar attained siddhi. This place is also unique because while generally, saints are dressed in ochre, in this temple, Udayar?fs idol is dressed in white.
