The Sri Kumaraswami Temple is located in Velimalai and is dedicated to God Kumaraswami. The main deity here in this temple is Kumaraswami who is also known as Subramania. He is seen here with his Goddess Valli. The deity stands tall at 10 feet. The Vengai is considered holy here and the water from the Teppakulam, sacred. There are 6 places in Tamilnadu that are revered as the Aaru Padai Veedu of God Muruga - This Velimalai is known as the 7th. This is actually in Kerala and is the home of Nambirajan, Valli's father. The wedding of Muruga and Valli happened here. Muruga is seen as a 10 foot tall idol in this very famous Muruga Temple. It is said that the wedding of God Muruga (Kumaraswami) and Valli took place here. A very famous temple touching the Kerala border. The Kanji (rice porridge) offered in the temple is believed to cure diseases. It is here Valli played with her friends and it is known as Kuravar Padukalam. The idol belongs to the Buddha period. Valli is on the left side. It is here Nambirajan (Valli’s father) lived. God Muruga was here in the form of Vengai tree to meet Valli.
