Tirumalai Mahadevar Temple

The Tirumalai Mahadevar Temple is located in Tirumalai and is dedicated to God Tirumalai Mahadevar. The presiding deity of this temple is Tirumalai Mahadevar. The temple is closely associated with the Ramayana as Rama is said to have worshipped here. The sanctums of Shiva and Perumaal are built in the Keralite style with copper - plated roofs. Tirumalai Naikkar of Madurai is said to have been named after this deity.
