Vaalai Thottathu Ayyan Temple

Overview : The Sri Vaalai Thottathu Ayyan Temple is a Snake god temple located in the city of Karuthampatti, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. About 500-1000 years old this is one temple where the people who are under threat of snakebite rush to. Farmers working in agricultural fields, people working near forests, who often see snakes in their locality and sometimes got bite that lead to death or serious injury to the victim go to this temple and worship the god. It is believed that the soil from putru of this temple protect the devotees from the snake bite and it is also said that the soil of putru never dips in volume even if large amount of it is taken by people for their well being.
