Overview
Sri Sundareshwara Temple is located in the Kannur district of Kerala, India. It is in Talap, in Kannur municipality of Kerala. This temple is one of the largest temples in Kannur.
Legend and Stories
Sri Sundareshwara temple of Kannur was made by the Theeyyars of Kannur and consecrated by Sri Narayana Guru. The designs of this temple were made by Sri Chaithanyaall Swami. Sri Narayana guru named the Shiva as Sri Sundareshwara by saying that all the people are beautiful. This temple was built on March 16, 1916. This temple follows the Brahmin way of worship though the priest is Ezhava, which is distinct from the inherited way of worship of Theeyyars. Sri Sundareshwara Temple is managed by Sri Bhakti Samvardhini Yogam.
