Shankareshwara Betta Temple

Shankareshwara Betta is a small beautiful hill near Kunigal and is situated about 86 kms from Bangalore. It lies on a road that deviates from the Kunigal - Maddur Road near a village called Santemavattur. At its top is a small temple with a Shivling dedicated to Shankareshwara. Shivratri is celebrated here and special poojas are offered. One can have a charming view from the top of the hillock. The expanse of the lake below and the adjoining hillocks are interesting to look at. A small pool right in front of the temple is the most attractive feature.
