At the insistence of his mother, a devout Vishnu worshipper, Damodarasena built this beautiful Ramachandra temple at Pavnar village in Wardha, Maharashtra. Recent excavations at this temple are panels that illustrate various scenes from the Ramayana. Vishnu's idol and a panel depicting the meeting of Rama and Bharata, with Sita and Lakshmana standing close by, are noteworthy. Built in 1962, the spacious sabhamandap houses the idol of Lord Ram. The compound of the temple is decorated with panels illustrating the Ramajanma, the Sugriva-Vali fight and other incidents.
