Kalikoh Temple

Overview


Kali Khoh is an old hollow sanctuary devoted to Goddess Kali at Vindhyachal in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. Kali Khoh sanctuary is a piece of the Trikon Parikrama or Yatra of three sanctuaries here. The other two are Maa Vindhyavasini Temple and Maa Ashtabhuja Devi Temple.


About the Temple


Goddess Kali is revered in the cavern sanctuary called Kali Khoh Temple, which is accepted to be the most capable sign of female force. Amidst forests, woodland and excellent streams, the Kali Khoh place of worship adds to the excellence of the site. Among the three heavenly shows (Maa Laxmi, Saraswati and Kali) of Adi Shakti, Mahakali is said to be settled in hollow of Kali Khoh. This is an antiquated cavern at the base of a hillock close Vindhyachal Town.


About the Deity


The managing divinity is Goddess Vindhyavasini Devi. Goddess Kali Khoh is a sign of Mother Goddess Shakti and she seemed to obliterate Adharma.

Vindhyachal has its own railway station on Manikpur – Mughal Sarai line. Although a small railway station many trains stop here. Otherwise one can easily come from Mirzapur railway station in 20 minutes.

Varanasi is the closest airport located around 78 kms from Vindhyachal.
