Swami Narayana Temple

The idol of Swami Narayana in this temple is seven feet tall and is made of gold. The temple was declared open on October 30, 1992 on a vast fertile land of 23 acres with the memorial of Swami Narayan, Arsh Research Centre, a park and a theatre. The memorial of Swami Narayana is built with Rajasthan marbles where the idol of Swami stands majestically. The statues of all his key disciples are installed around the temple. It took six years to complete the construction of the temple. Six thousand tonnes of pink marbles had been used in the construction of the temple. The temple is 108 feet tall, 240 feet long and has a 131 feet wide. A film showing the life history and teachings of Swamiji is exhibited in the theatre in the shrine complex. Among the idols in the temple are that of Sri Andal and Nachiar Thirumozhi. There is gigantic theatre in the temple showing a film with the message that no one could achieve enlightenment without a Guru. There is also a park spread over a land area of 15 acres. A fountain is also created here symbolizing the Triveni confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi. The churning of the ocean by the demons and the Devas is beautifully depicted in the park. Besides the above, there is a Centre in the temple devoted to research on topics such as education, medicine, rural welfare, rescue measures in time of natural calamities, elimination of social evils, art and culture, etc.

Meaning -According to this sloka, God is the isolated and aloof strength of the controlling and virtuous craving in men.

Ye Caiva Sattvika Bhava Rajasastamasasca Ye Matta Everti Tanviddhi Na Tvaham Tesu Temayi

Meaning -According to this sloka, though the only source of satva, rajas and tamas (good, obsessive and dark) elements is God, they are not present within the God or the deity.
