Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

Overview


The temple of Sri Narashima Swamy is located in the heart of the Town, which is popularly known to local people as guha gudi. The ancient temple is believed t be existing from Tretha Yuga. The town is located on the banks of the River Munneru, which is tributary to River Krishna.


About the temple


During Tretha Yugam Mothgalya Maharishi with his disciples penance here in a cave and he was blessed by Lord Vishnu. Mothgalya Maharishi requested Lord Vishnu to stay back in this place along with Lakshmi. Lord came out of the pillar as Sri Lakshmi Narashima Swamy. Hence the place was known as Sthambadri. There is a sanctum for Sri Hanuman near the dwajasthambam.Garuda is seen opposite to, main Garbha Graham within the mandapam. Inner sanctum is a Cave. Sri Narashimar is seen with Thayar. He is seen only up to bust. We see Urchava vigrahas, Aandal, Maharishi idol.There is a separate sanctum for Sri Lakshmi Thayar.

Paduka is seen in front of Thayar Sannidhi. Sayana Graha, of the Lord who is known as Addala Mandapam of this temple. The Devotee Sri Maddigunta Tirupataiah after got experience miracles of Lord Nagendraswamy as well as Lord Lakshmi narasimha Swamy he dedicated his life in Lord lakshmi Narasimha services. He constructed the Temple in the year 1963 and did all poojas and other services with his own hands till 1976. After that the as temple  administration came under Endowment Act purview , Sri Thirupataiah had been managed the Temple as Founder till 1998 till his demise .  After his death his son Sri Maddigunta Narasimha Rao has been recognised as "Founder Trustee " , and since 2000 to till date the  temple affairs has been managing by Sri Maddigunta Narasimha Rao. The Founder Trustee of the temple i.e Sri Maddigunta Narasimha Rao also got experienced the miracles of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha as well as Lord Nagendra swamy.  The details of the said miracles may be seen by the under given images. So by the experiences of Founders of the Temple as well as other devotees it has been proved The Garlavoddu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is a powerful god and lord miracles are amazing one.


About the Deity


The main temple dedicated to Sri LakShmi Narasimha Swamy, and other temples dedicated to Goddess peddamma talli, and goddess Amdaallaamma talli respectively.


Legend and stories


During Tretha Yugam Mouthgalya Maharishi with his disciples penance here in a cave and he was blessed by Lord Vishnu. Mothgalya Maharishi requested Lord Vishnu to stay back in this place along with Lakshmi. Lord came out of the pillar as Sri Lakshmi Narashima Swamy. Hence the place was known as Sthambadri. Sthala Purana says in16th century, King Pratapa Rudra, who was ruling the place was blessed by Lord here. King developed the temple and pooja was arranged according to Vaikasana Agama Sthara. Panaka Abishekam on Sundays is important here. Public believe that all their wishes are fulfilled when they worship here the Lord for 40 days.


Festivals


Lakshmi Narayana Jayanthi is celebrated in grand manner. Swamy Kalyanam performed in Month of May every year.

  • On “Toli Ekadasi” festival “Ksheerabhishakam” will be performed for Lord Laxmi Narasimha.

  • On Dasara festival “Semi Pooja” will be performed.
  • On “Danurmasam” month “Andalamma Kovela seva” will be performed for a month.
  • On “Karteeka Masam” “Akasha depam” pooja will be performed for a month.
