Overview
The Maridamma Temple is dedicated to Goddess Maridamma. It is located at Saravari St, Peddapuram, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
Festivals
Peddapuram Maridamma temple is famous for its Maridamma festival, celebrated for thirty-one days from the Amavasya in the month of Jyeshtha to the Amavasya in the month of Ashadha. Cycle races, cattle shows, parrot circuses and agricultural exhibitions are also held here. 'Kumbham' is carried in decorated vessels and kept in open carts. These carts are taken in procession to the temple with the accompaniment of music and dance and offered to the God and then food is distributed as 'prasadam'.
