Overview
Basanta Vana is an eighty feet tall idol of Lord Shiva that is made of cement and steel. It was built in more than 13 months. This 1500 tonne statue is the second biggest statue of Lord Shiva in India. It is situated around 3 km from Bijapur on the Ukkali Road in the village of Rambapur. It was unveiled on 26th February 2006 on the day of Shivaratri. Beneath the statue, a small Shiva Lingam has been placed.
