Vellore Golden temple

The Golden Temple of Vellore is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi. The temple was built by Sri Narayani Peedam with an expenditure of Rs. 600 Crores. The temple is believed to have been made from more than a ton of gold. The temple is spread over 100 acres of land. The Golden Temple was built in 7 years. It was inaugurated on August 24, 2007. The temple has been built in the middle of a star-shaped path in order to absorb energy from nature. There is an "eco-pond" called Sarvatheertham created by combining water from all the major rivers of the country.
