Veera Anjaneyar Temple

Pudhuppaakkam is a small place located about 40 kms from Chennai. Pudhuppaakkam is centered around the Kelambakkam Vandalur Road. A sculpture of Sri Anjaneyar is found on the while reaching the temple. The temple for Sri Veera Anjaneyar is located on a small hill filled with greenery. The hill appears to be beautiful and one will find steps to ascend the hill. You can get a scenic view around whilst climbing down the hill. Based on a legend, it says that, Sri Hanuman, whilst transporting the Sanjeevini Hill in order to save Sri Lakshmana, halted here for a while to do Surya Namaskar. The almighty Hanuman is believed to have become more powerful at this place. The temple is located on the hill top, this temple is awaiting for Kumbhabishegam (consecration) soon. It is also stated that Rajnikanth being an ardent devotee of Sri Hanuman visits this temple often. Although one will trace no evidences like sculptures or background concerning the source of this temple, it draws many devotees from various places, the temple has large circles of oscillations and is one of the best places for Sri Hanuman devotees.

Meaning -We salute Lanka's horror, Anjana's brave son, who ended Sita's sorrows, the ruler of monkeys and the one who killed Aksha, Ravana's son.
