The Vedanarayana Perumal Temple is located in Tirunarayanapuram and is dedicated to God Vedanarayana Perumal. There are separate shrines for Sri Andal, Tirumangai Alwar, Pillai Lokacharyar, Ramanuja Acharya, Nammalwar and Manavalamamunigal in the corridor or prakara. The vimana of the sanctum sanctorum is known as the Veda Vimana. God Vedanarayana Perumal visits Mother Vedavalli's shrine on Pannguni Utthiram Day (March - April). Legend has it that the God got the name Vedanarayana as he educated God Brahma on the Vedas when the latter lost his place as Creator because of his arrogance and recovered it in this place. The idol of the God was concealed by sand over time due to natural disasters. It was later uncovered by King Vanavarayar who was told by the God of this idol that was hid in this place. He later built temple for the God.
