Overview
Vaishno Devi Temple in Haridwar is the replica of the Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir. Though Vaishno Devi Temple in Haridwar was built some ten years ago and does not fall under the ancient temples.
About the Temple
Vaishno Devi Temple has gained popularity because of its architecture. One needs to go through the tunnels and caves to reach the Goddess Vaishno Devi. This is similar to the original Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu. The deities in moola roopa are Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Kali and Goddess Saraswati. It is believed that all three Goddess together became Vaishno Devi in order to kill the demon Mahishasura. It is also believed that the Goddess blesses only those who truly seek the blessings.
Festivals
Apart from Kumbh Mela, the temple celebrates many festivals like Basant Panchami, Makar Sankaranti, Ganga Dussera, etc with great pomp and show.

How to Reach Vaishno Devi Temple, Haridwar
From Haridwar railway station head towards Nirmala Chhwani Road and turn left at north-west on Purusharthi market road, turn right at Surendra Provision Store towards bypass road and Pass by Mela Hospital on the right and at 3.2 Km continue onto the roundabout take the second exit at 1.4 Km and turn right at 170 m, and turn right At 170 m, turn left, at 36 m turn left at 7m and turn right at the 19 m and you will find the Vaishno Devi Temple on the right. This is totally 5.1 Kms from the railway station and takes 9 minutes to reach. From the railway station one can either take taxis or buses to reach the temple.

The nearest domestic airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is a located 35 km from Haridwar. Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is the nearest International Airport. The Haridwar Railway Station located in Haridwar is under the control of the Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. The National Highway no. 45 connects Haridwar to other cities of the state as well as other cities. The road connecting Haridwar to Delhi ensures an extremely comfortable travel.
