Overview


The Sree Bhavaneeswara Temple is located in Palluruthy, Kochi. It was built by the great saint, sage and social reformer of India, Sree Narayana Guru on March 8, 1916. The temple is managed by Sree Dharma Paripalana Yogam. It was founded in 1903 under the guidance and blessings of Sree Narayana Guru, the great saint, sage and social reformer of India. The temple is owned and managed by Sree Dharma Paripalana Yogam.


About The Temple


The architecture style of the temple is moderate. There are many shrines constructed for people who worship Lord Shiva and Vishnu. Wooden carvings in the interior wall fascinate tourists. There is no pond and tank for the devotees to take bath before to worship the deity.

Festivals


There are many festival celebrated with lots of happiness and full dedication. Among them there is mahotsavam Grand festival is celebrated every year during the month of February-March for eleven days. Commencing with flag hoisting and fire works on the 1st day, Pooyam Kavadi procession on the 8th day, Pallivetta on the 10th day, the festival concludes with Arattu on the 11th day. Sri Narayana Jayanthi and Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi birthday are also celebrated at the temple. On Sri Narayana Jayanth the great reformer was born hence birthday of great saint is celebrated on the Chathayam asterism of the Malayalam month of Chingam .On the auspicious occasion of Gajapooja where 108 elephants were presented in ornamental items with traditional percussion did even attract the international media.


Poojas


Swarna Dwaja Pratista Day is being observed every year on the day immediately preceding the Mahotsavam celebrations. Nava Graha Homam is being performed on all Sundays. Annadhanam and Sampoorna Niramala is being sponsored by devotees on all Saturdays.

Tirunettur Railway station is 5km away from Palluruthy Village. Ernakulam Bus stand is major bus stand which connect major cities. All private bus is available at this bus stand.
