Overview : Sri Ganesha of this temple is prayed by devotees whenever there is dearth rain or to contain the heavy rains.Sri Sthambha Ganapati Temple is otherwise called the Kambadha Ganapati Shrine. Sri Ahinava Narasimha Bharati, the 24th Acharya, cut the picture of Lord Ganesha with a bit of turmeric.The column on which this picture has been cut is strong, while the rock stone behind Ganesha picture is empty.The temple was recreated by Puttayappa, the supporter of the Acharya, in 1621.
