Built about 103 years ago, the Sri Selva Vinayagar temple located in Perang Serai is considered as wooden temple . The temple was previously called as Pillaiyar or Vinayagar temple. The principle deity in the temple are Sri Subramaniyam (Right Sanctum), Sri Mariamman (Left Sanctum), Sri Durga Devi (Koshtam Entrance), Idumban, Vazhi Pillaiyar, Trisoolam and Navakaragam. Constructed during 1967 the temple was earlier maintained by the railway labourers. Two Kumbabishegams were held in 1974 and 1991.
