The Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai , also called the Arulmigu Thirumurugan Koyil Paribalana Avai or Arulmigu Sree Murugan Temple Paribalana Avai, is a Hindu temple in Mak Mandin, Butterworth. The Moolavar is seven-feet-tall Shanmugar with VaLLi and DheiyvAnai It is dedicated to the Hindu deity Murugan, a popular deity among the Tamils and South Indians. Murugan, also written Muruga and even Subramanian, is the god of war and patron deity of Tamil Nadu. Among Malaysians, Murugan is best known as the Hindu deity for which Thaipusam is staged annually. The Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai Temple conducts regular Bharathanatyam Indian classical dance classes.
