Meenakshi Sundareshwar Temple is located at a distance of 15 kilometres from Bangalore. The enormous temple complex is dedicated to Shiva, known here as Sundareshvara and his consort Parvati or Meenakshi. Lord Sundareshwar is seen near the entrance of the temple and Goddess Meenakshi is found on the other side of the temple. The temple also houses shrines for Lord Ganesha, Lord Subramanya, Lord Venkateshwara and Lord Ayyappa. One can also see a large shrine for the Navagrahas (nine planets).
