Arookkutty Sri Mathanam Bhagavathy Temple is situated in the midst of two local territories of olden Kerala namely Travancore and Kochi. The history says that the main deity of Sri Mathanam Bhagavathy was received from the Vempanattu Lake, which separated these two rules in a period between AD 850 and 900.
