The main deity in this temple is God Muktheeswarar and the lingam is really an enormous Bana lingam with all the mudhras on it. The Ambal is Kamakshi amman. One will find independent shrines of Vinayagar, Subramanyar and Navagrahas. The Ambal shrine is within the main shrine by itself. Koshta Gods, Bairavars and Chandikeswarar are all present in this temple. There's a temple tank attached to the temple. One will find inscriptions across the sanctum in simple Tamil which is not that difficult to understand. So it's not an ancient temple which must be a couple of years old.
