Overview


Sri Kadu Hanumantharaya Swamy Temple is located at Dharapuram, Tirupur District, Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Dharapuram is one of the oldest towns in Tiruppur District and was the capital of Kongu Nadu under Kongu Cholas, at which time it was known as Vanchipuri and it is on the banks of the River Amaravathi a tributary of Cauvery and the beauty of the town is enhanced by the river. Renovation works are going on inside the temple.


About The Temple


Sri Kadu Hanumantharaya Swamy temple has a History of more than 600 years old. The pillars in the Mandapa are made up of wood with fine miniature artistic carving still stands good. This temple is a unique place where along with the Mrithika Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra swamy and Sri Teekacharayara Mrithika Brindavana is there inside Laksmi Narasimha temple complex. The Hanumantharaya Swamy’s right hand blesses the devotees and left hand carries the flower Sowganthi.


Legend and Stories


This Anjaneya vigraha was installed by one of the great saints in Madhwa yathi parampare -In the line distinguished paramahamsas established by the illustrious saint, philosopher in the 15th century Sri Vyasa thirtha (1447-1539) or Vyasarajaru a Madhwa saint per excellance who late become the Royal preceptor of king Krishna deva raya on the most enlightened and benevolent rulers of the Vijayanagar empire.Vyasarajaru has installed 732 Anjaneya temples around in Karnataka , Andhrapradesh and Tamilnadu in a Span of 1 year during his Yatra.


Festivals


Car Festival is celebrated in a grand manner every year for around 10 days in this temple and Other Festivals like are Hanumantha jayanthi, Sri Ramanavami, Narasimha jayanthi, Sri Ragavendhra swamy Aaradhane, Sri Jayathirtara (Teekacharya) Aaradahane, Madhwanavami and Vaikunta Ekadasi.

One must purchase Cow’s Ghee & Butter and Honey which are being offered for Abhisekha and get Panchamrita from it and given to all the Bhakta’s Present at that time.

Meaning -Oh Lord Hanuman who has a mystical form, who adorns a silk garment in yellow and who looks similar to molten gold, let thy be auspiciousness.

Anjana Nandanam Veeram Janaki Soka Naasanam, Kapeesa Maksha Hantharam, Vandhe Lanka Bhayankaram

Meaning -We salute Lanka's horror, Anjana's brave son, who ended Sita's sorrows, the ruler of monkeys and the one who killed Aksha, Ravana's son.
