Overview


Siddheswar Temple is located at Kavalapur Village in Miraj Taluk in Sangli District, Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Siddheswar, a kind manifestation of Shiva and this form of Shiva is widely worshipped as kuldevata (family deity) in Maharashtra.


Fairs and Festivals


Siddheswar Yatra at Kavalapur Village is observed in Chaitra month (March – April) and it is the annual fair and festival at the Siddheswar Temple. For the annual festival, the shrine is decorated with lamps, lights, flowers, leaves and sugarcane. The festival and fair attract hundreds of devotees to the Siddheswar temple. Kavalapur Siddheswar Yatra is annually observed on Chaitra Purnima tithi or the full moon day in Chaitra month.
