Overview


Sanglan Wala Shivaalay Temple (Shiva Temple) is an ancient, holy temple of Hindu religion, situated in old Ludhiana city. This is one of the famous temples of this region dedicated to lord Shiva. This is about 400 years old. The architecture is very beautiful and attracts lot of devotees from different parts of the region. The idol of lord Shiva is very beautiful.


Fairs and Festivals


The temple celebrates Shivarathri festival very magnificently and a large number of devotees irrespective of religion gather in the early morning to worship the Lord. They offer water and milk to the Lord.

In the holy month of Shravan in the Hindu calendar, hundreds of Kanwarias take an arduous journey to Hardwar from Ludhiana to get holy water from the River Ganga. Hundreds of Kanwarias undertake this journey. They offer holy water in Sanglan Wala Shivaalay Temple. Normally Kanwarias initially assemble at Gita Temple in Daresi and from there the Shiva devotees march to the ancient Sangla Wala Shivaalay and offer holy water to the idol of Lord Shiva.
