Ramavardayini Temple

Overview


Ramavardayini Temple is situated on top of a hill called Yamunachal, at Tuljapur, in the Indian State of Maharashtra. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ramavardayini. The deity is said to have eight arms ( Ashtabhuja). This temple has a close connect to the epic Ramayana. According to Ramayana, Goddess Shakthi Devi is said to have bestowed her blessings upon Lord Rama, who was in search of his wife, Sita. Since the Goddess is believed to have granted Ram’s wishes, she came to be known as Ramavardayini.
