JK Radhakrishna Temple

Overview


The Shri Radhakrishna temple is popularly called the JK Temple, was built by the J.K Trust. The architecture of this temple reflects a blend of ancient and modern style. This temple houses five shrines, out of which the central shrine is dedicated to Hindu God, Lord Radhakrishna. Rest of the four shrines are enshrined with the deities of Lord Ardhnareswara, Lord Lakshminarayana, Lord Narmadeshwar and Lord Hanuman.


About The Temple


Shri Radhakrishna Temple is a well-known temple in Kanpur, visited by large number of devotees. It was built by the JK trust and is often referred to as JK Temple. The temple that is built from marble has five shrines within, with the main one dedicated to Lord Radhakrishna while the others have idols of the Laxminarayan, Ardhanarishwar, Narmadeshwara, and Hanuman respectively. The architecture is splendid as it merges the temple styles of the North and South of India with the use of even roofs and decorative mandaps. Its high ceilings allow for natural light and good ventilation, adding to its charm. In addition, it is set in a green spot due to the proximity to Nana Rao Park and Phool Bagh, and this adds to the beauty of the temple.

Although the temple was constructed following a unique blend of ancient and modern style, but still it has an ethnic and traditional look to it. The temple portrays an ancient cultural and old traditional look to it.

Frequent rail services are there in the route connecting Lucknow with Kanpur (80 km) as well as Delhi with Kanpur (438 km). There are regular buses from other major cities of the country to Kanpur

Timings

JK Temple is open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with inner parts of temple( the statues ) being closed to public for an hour between 8:40 pm and 9:40 pm for prayers.
