This temple located in Denkanikota, Krishnagiri, TamilNadu. It is dedicated to Betaraya Swamy also known as Sree Vettaiyadia Piran. The Diety in the temple looks resplendent and is similar to God Venkatachalapathi in Tirupathi. Soundaravalli Naachiyaar's shrine is located to the southern side of the main gate. The Vimana of this temple is similar to that of the Vimana in Tirupathi. Another speciality of this temple is that, it has a separate shrine for Athri Rishi. Legends has it that God Venkatachalapathi (Deity of Tirupathi) took the form of the hunter with a mace called "Denkani" to slay the asura."Deva Kanaka" who was troubling the sages & hermits and hence the name "Denkanipuram". During the rule of Tippu Sultan the place was renamed as Denkanikota.
