Sree Meenakshi temple is a famous old temple situated near Punthalathazham at Peroor. Durga Devi is the main deity of this temple. However, Krishna has an equally important presence in the temple. The "Moolasthana" of this temple is Koyikkalazhikathu temple situated at Eravipuram, Kollam district.
