Makarchandi Temple

Srimanta Sadagar, from the command of the Goddess in his dream while he was sailing along the might Saraswati River, built the original temple here, of which only 3 pieces of stone are the remains. Ramkanta Kunduchoudhury, Mahiari's zamindar, built the current temple in 1743, along with a Shiva temple and a natmandap. The Birla Trust renovated this 40 ft tall temple.
