Maa Markama Temple is located at Bissam Cuttack, 40 kms from Rayagada. The temple is surrounded by lush green forest. Many people visit from near and far especially on Tuesdays. The town college has also been named after Goddess Markama. The temple is Maa Markama temple at Bissamkatak in Rayagada district of Odisha. In the past it was worshipped by the royal family of Bissamkatak. In southern Odisha it is the only temple of Maa Markama and Maa Karkama.
