Kulapulli Krishna Temple

In general, temples in Kerala have abundant artistic wealth. They are also built according to vasthu shastras and appear outstanding due to maintenance and strict discipline. Kulapulli Krishna temple, known as Sri Koil, has been structured in aagama rules with three entrances - north, west and east. One can see many garudas circling around the sky during the festival days in the temple. The idol of Sri Krishna has been depicted with butter in one hand and a stick in the other. Sri Ayyappa is also seen as Dharma Sastha, holding amrita kalasa in his right hand. This is one of the temple's rare beauties. The shrine was rebuilt after it was found dilapidated during 18th century.
