The Jagannatha Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in Kannur, Kerala. The temple is approached with prayers for Fame, Freedom from diseases, Wealth, Courage, Relief from adverse effects from bad planetary aspects, Relief from bondage and Removal of sins. Jagannath Temple was established by Sree Narayana Guru to stop the evils of the caste system. It is believed that during the medieval age, natives belonging to lower castes were forbidden to enter the temple. They were only allowed to worship the deities that were enshrined within Kavu and Kazhakam. Upset with this, Sree Narayana Guru decided to build a temple that would be open for all. The temple was inaugurated in 1908, with a huge idol of Lord Shiva as the main deity. Lord Shiva was named as Ezhava Shiva by the guru, to announce that the temple was open for every caste. Later, Moorkoth Kumaran Master enshrined the idol of Sree Narayana Guru in the central hall.
