Overview
Sri Ganesha Temple is situated at a town named Kanjirappally, in the Kottayam District of Kerala, India. The temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
About the Temple
The shrine is built using the black granite stone and typically carries attributes of early Tamil religion and culture. Vellala Pillas had originally migrated from the temple town of Kumbhakonam in Tamil Nadu to Kanjirappally. They visited the Pillayar Kovil for worship but later constructed another temple to its north and named it the Northern Ganapathiyar Kovil. The later temple was built following the Pallava style of architecture. At present, these two Ganapathy temples within the same premise are collectively called Pillayar Kovils.
Festivals
Vinayaka Chathurthi is the most prominent festival celebrated here every year in the Malayalam month of Chingam (mid Aug to Sept).

Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathy Homam, Unniyappam, Modakam and Karukamala are the main offerings to the deity here.
