Overview

Deenabandhu, Lord Krishna - the Lord of Compassion, directs the "Temple of the Healer" at Indira Nagar, Bangalore. Sanctified in 1978, Deenabandhu Devasthanam is exceptionally adored santuary devoted to Lord Krishna at Indiranagar in Bangalore.

About The Temple

The sanctuary mirrors a mix of North and South Indian design embellished with 5 gopurams speaking to the 5 Mahayagnas. The crown of the sanctuary depicts the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, flanked by Garuda and Hanuman on both sides. The passageway is as a fire of flame. The conviction is that while entering the sanctuary, one needs to drop the ego in the fire of flame and; decontaminate, and afterward look for the favors and effortlessness of Krishna with unadulterated commitment.

Legend and Stories

Deenabandhu Devasthanam -His amiable effortlessness and abundant gifts have been streaming to His devotees since its sanctification by Pujya Swami Chinmayananda in 1978. In the icon of Deenabandhu, the devotees conjure the recuperating powers (in the Doctors) and the corrective forces (in the patients) of the Lord. Ruler Krishna as Kaliya Mardana is moving on the seven-hooded serpent Kaliya. The seven hoods are a representation of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada, Matsarya and Ahankara. We can, with consistent and complete surrender to the Lord, squash and conquer all negative inclinations in us and at the appointed time come to understand the Supreme Brahman. Clarifying the imagery of Kaliya Mardana, Swami Chinmayananda said: "Krishna is moving on the serpent (the sense of self) which spits forward the toxin (vasanas) in our life stream. The Lord's move inside the body evacuates the toxin. Give us a chance to venerate and revere Him whose Grace favors all, who is Deenabandhu". The sanctuary is a mix of North and South Indian design adorned with five Gopurams speaking to the five Mahayajnas. The crown of the sanctuary portrays the great Dashavatars (ten symbols) - Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narashima, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha and Kalki - flanked by Garuda and Hanuman on either side.

The front facade mural depicts the Geetopadesha - the Song Celestial of Lord Krishna. After crossing the five steps of the five sense organs and entering the Temple, the Lord of Auspiciousness, Shri Maha Ganapati and the Lord of Valour and Humility, Shri Anjaneya Swami housed in their artistic mandapas bless the devotees before they proceed to the Sanctum Sanctorum to seek Lord Deenabandhu's Grace and Blessings.

The front exterior wall painting delineates the Geetopadesha - the Song Celestial of Lord Krishna. Subsequent to intersection the five stages of the five sense organs and entering the Temple, the Lord of Auspiciousness, Shri Maha Ganapati and the Lord of Valor and Humility, Shri Anjaneya Swami housed in their imaginative mandapas favors the devotees before they continue to the Sanctum Sanctorum to look for Lord Deenabandhu's Grace and Blessings.
