Dakra Bhimeswar Temple

Overview : Bhimesvara Siva temple is a God Shiva temple located inside the Uttaresvara Siva sanctuary area, in the northern bank of Bindusagar tank. The deity of this temple is idolized in form of a Siva lingam inside a circular yoni pitha at the midpoint of the shrine. This is a persisting sanctuary confronting east. The temple has a square vimana with a present day solid corridor before the vimana and serves as the jagamohana. Parallel to Uttaresvara Siva Shrine this temple was also redesigned from Upper part. On height, the Vimana is of rekha followed by bada, gandi and mastaka. With triple divisions of bada the temple has a triangular bada. The other residing deities are positioned in the jangha parcel on three sides. The western side corner houses a fascinating four armed God Kartikeya standing over a lotus petal. His lower left hand rests over a cock and lower right hand holding the beak of his mount peacock. He is holding a dambaru in his upper left and a trishul in upper right hand.The northern raha corner houses a four armed Parvati remaining over a lotus petal. The goddess holds lotus in her lower left, akshamala in lower right, a staff in upper left and a nagapasa in upper right arm. The southern corner houses a four outfitted Ganesha remaining over a lotus platform. He holds a rosary in lower right, Varadamudra in upper left, lower left hand rests over the parasu though upper left hand holds a broken tooth. All the other residing deities in the shrine are recent establishments. The doorjamb is cut with three plain vertical groups. At the lalatabimba there is a Gajalaxmi situated on a lotus platform. The divinity holds a lotus in her cleared out arm and right hand is in Varada mudra.
