The Arulmigu Uthira Veeraragavaperumal Temple is located in Dharapuram and is dedicated to God Veeraragavaperumal. The deity of this temple is known as Veeraragavapperumal. It is said that all rulers of this region prayed to this deity before the swearing in. The temple has been administered in the past by kings, ministers and army chiefs. The second emperor of Vijayanagar constructed this temple in 1387 and appointed the priests as well. The temple is said to have a secret passage. The temple is said to have been administered as a Samanapalli in 1321. Historians and archaeologists have analyzed the inscriptions from the stones in the temple and gained a lot of information.
