Arulmigu Dhandumariamman Temple

The Arulmigu Dhandumariamman Temple is located in Avinashi and is dedicated to Arulmigu Dhandumariamman. The annual festival of the temple starts on the first Tuesday during the Chithirai month and is celebrated continuously for 13 days with great dedication. Right from music to dance, the event has been successful since its inception. Along with pooja, the holy lamp festival is celebrated on the fourth day of the Chitirai festival and has greater importance. Women seek the mercy of Shakti and pray to her, offering bananas, rice, coconut, incense sticks, camphor, beetle leaves, bangles and sweet pongal. Shakti Karaga Vazhipadu holds a significant importance where the procession begins at the temple and the deity is taken in and around streets, offering food to the devotees on behalf of the temple's management. Also Maha Abhishekam is conducted in due course.
