Aluru Ranganathaswamy Temple is situated at Aluru in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. This sanctuary was implicit the year 1334 A.D by Yerramraju, who was a chieftain at Bukkaraya court of Vijayanagara line. Yerramraju gave terrains to the sanctuary to meet temple expenses. Presently sanctuary is holding 51.48 acres of land. Temple was based on top of the slopes, beside the sanctuary, there is a natural spring, that streams between the stones for the entire year.
Annual Brahmotsavam festival starts on Chaitra Suddha Pournami day.
How to Reach Anantapur
The nearest airport to Anantapur is the Putaparthi Airport which is about 75 kms away from Anantapuram. One can easily get a taxi or a bus to travel to the city.
The Anantapur Railway Station is closest to Anantapuram. The railway station is in the extreme corner of the district, making it about 100 kms away from your destination. However, getting a bus or a taxi is quite easy, since Anantapuram is the district headquarters.
Travelling to Anantapur by Road is also quite easy. The district headquarters sees regular buses from all over the region. Anantapuram is located at NH 70.
