Ahileshwara temple

The Ahileshwara Temple located in the town of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh, India. The ancient temple is dedicated to God Rama and is situated in the banks of the River Narmada. An interesting fact about this temple is that it has two shrines dedicated to God Rama within the same temple premise. The main shrine is dedicated to God Rama and in addition another smaller temple within the temple premise is also dedicated to God Rama. The temple is decorated with various carvings and images of wars, stories and epics from various period of time. Several interesting images within the temple premise is of Maratha soldiers and elephants going to war. People from various parts of the country come to visit this image.
