The Palani Dhandayuthapani Temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga is located in the Palani Hills, Dindigul, about 100 kms to the Southeast of Coimbatore and to the Northwest of Madurai, In Palani the lord wears a loin and has a staff in his grasp. This is at the highest point on the hill, and is at around 500 ft.
